Move to the Music

Experience the Movement

Dance is a wonderful way to let you or your child move to music and develop a sense of being in tune with the body. As each dancer grows and develops, our classes offer the opportunity to increase skills and try out new techniques.

At Danceworks Dance Centre, we offer a variety of traditional dance classes. All classes are one hour in length. Placement is determined by age, experience and level of technical development.

Watch Your Dancer Grow and Develop

Watch your child perform from our observation windows available in each studio. Our staff encourages parent presence in our studio. These windows provide an opportunity to watch without disrupting the class in session.

Ballet is the most technical form of dance, any serious dancer needs a strong background in ballet technique for it is the basis of strength and posture that is crucial for most other forms of dance.

Pointe is a more advanced class with several years of Ballet training needed. Students must meet age and technical requirements and have the teachers consent to move on to Pointe.

Musical Theatre I

Welcome to the stage! Musical Theatre is designed for students looking to learn and apply fundamentals in acting, singing, and theater-style dance.  In MT1 your young performer will be guided through a series of exercises and games devised to promote creativity, quick-thinking, and confidence by utilizing the learning-through-play approach. This includes dressing up with costume pieces and incorporating various props to create characters, singing songs, learning and making-up dance routines, audition prep and etiquette, and much more! Students will be encouraged to explore these new skill-sets in a safe and supportive environment, which will culminate in a community outreach performance during the Christmas holiday season (if safe to do so), and also in the DDC recital at the end of the year.
The "Triple Threat" class. Sharpen your singing, dancing, and acting skills in this one-hour class. Extra performance opportunities will be available throughout the year.

Musical Theatre II

Become that Triple Threat! Musical Theatre 2 is designed for those with previous theatrical experience/training that are looking to take it to the next level. The three disciplines of acting, singing, and dancing will be unified as we dive into building and maintaining consistent characters, scene and text analysis, audition survival 101, examining theater history and present productions, music reading and interpretation, studies in choreographers and Broadway-style dance, creative quick-thinking through improvisation, and so much more! The emphasis in this class is to strengthen many elements equally to create a well-rounded performer. MT2 is an excellent fit for those looking to pursue outside theater opportunities in the community, school, or as a possible career choice. Students will be encouraged to explore these new skill-sets in a safe and supportive environment, which will culminate in a community outreach performance during the Christmas holiday season (if safe to do so), and also in the DDC recital at the end of the year.
